Is Cypress Hills A Good Neighborhoo?

I am moving to Cypress Hills in Brooklyn, New York. On Etna and Chestnut Street. Some people say it's East New York, Some people say it's Cypress Hills. I have gone around the erea at certain times and recently since the weather is warm, I really don't see a lot of people hanging out. I am close to the Cypress Hills Train Station and the Crescent station. Some people are friendly some aren't but I am not there to make friends. Can any body give me any info on the neighborhood please. I see a mix of cultures, Hispanics, Blacks, some Asians, Whites and Indians.
